Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could please give me some advice. I have leased cars for many years and have always got the documentation from the car manufacturer directly (even though I’ve gone through a company like National Vehicle solutions). The other day I found a deal I liked through Leasing Options and I’ve just signed the contract, but noticed (of course I noticed after I’d signed) it had ‘Leasys’ written all over the docs and not Cupra. I nearly fell off my chair! I’ve paid Leasing options the broker fee of £349. The car isn’t due to be delivered until January. In their documentation, Leasys sent me the new registration too. The issue I have is, I googled Leasys and they have the WORST reviews I’ve ever seen. All I keep thinking is how I’ve completely messed up.

Sorry if I haven’t explained enough/explained too much. Since I’ve literally just signed the contract, can anyone please tell me if I can cancel the contract? I would really appreciate any guidance. Thank you so much.

Leasys is the leasing arm of Stellantis, nobody is getting a car from them and writing them a glowing review about how well they process a monthly direct debit.

Thanks for replying. It says:

“If the Hirer is a consumer and have entered into this agreement at a distance, you have the right under the Consumer Contracts (Informtaion, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 to cancel this agreement Within 14 days of entering into it.”

Just cancel it if you are within the 14 day window, and read the documents properly next time!

Do you think I’ll be able to, without being penalised? Do you know if I’ll get the £349 broker fee back? I’ve definitely learnt my lesson 😩

I love the car but the documentation is from the company Leasys and they’ve got terrible reviews. People are saying upon collection, this company is charging them ridiculous amounts of money for things they shouldn’t be. It’s not just one or two bad reviews. There’s loads.

So people are moaning that the lease company is charging for damage etc when the car is returned?

As long as you look after it etc and maybe take a detailed video upon handing back I'm sure you'll be OK

OP. We have had a Peugeot 3008 from Leasys for the last 24 months. Handed the car back this week on Monday, a chap from Manheim came to collect it.

I made sure it was clean inside and out, polished off any paint marks and scuffs and had the requested keys, service book and wheel key all ready to go.

He did comment on how tidy it was compared to others he had collected and took about 30 minutes to inspect - upon which he asked me to sign his form, no issues at all.

Worked out all okay for us.

Leasys is fine as long as you are fine.

No one writes a glowing review of a finance company.
For things like these, people only write reviews if they have a bad experience.

I had the 840i deal with Leasys and they were fine.

It was early Covid (March 2020) so they were a bit slow, but everyone was.
No issues on hand back, and have dealt with them since and they are fine.

I wouldn't worry.

If the car and price is right I’m not sure what you are worrying about. Once you have the car you won’t have to deal with the until it goes back.

From my experience of working as a lease broker for several years i would say the chance of getting your £349 bakc is slim to absolutely none!

What are you getting so upset about? Someone writes a bad review and you want to cancel the deal? Stop flapping and just take the car or cancel it and lose your fee. Simple.
