As per title but I do not want to give out any personal details like email address or have to sign up for anything.
I would just like to put in vehicle details and get instant results. Does such a site/app exist.

No.

An online check needs an email address to deliver the report to.

An app will also need to be "delivered" to a known number etc.

build an autotrader ad and that may give you an idea. You may have to register but what's your worry?

Not necessarily, the report could just be displayed on the screen.
Like checking the .gov site for tax/MOT.

But I don't know if such a site for write-offs exists.

Buy a burner phone and PAYG SIM card and create a dummy gmail account. Make sure you’ve got your tinfoil hat on while doing it though. Might get a knock at the door otherwise.

Not true (used to be true, a good few months ago though).

Try https://vehiclescore.co.uk/

If there is something dodgy you will have to buy the report but if it is all OK it will tell you. If you know the vehicle has been written off I think it is very unlikely you will get that information for free

There is a fair amount of free government data at https://www.gov.uk/get-vehicle-information-from-dv...

I’m pretty sure it doesn’t although personally I don’t see why the basic information isn’t free like Mot history. If anything getting the information is getting more and more expensive.

If you snap the phone in half immediately after reading the report, you should be OK.

Why not just get someone to HPI it?

Sadly Autotrader doesn't do that anymore. Frustrating if you are looking at lots of cars, not to be able to see this information easily is a pain (obviously if buying from some sites, e.g. Autotrader, any Cat writeoff statuses are visible.
