I traded in a car a couple of months ago due to personal circumstances. I’ve just noticed it’s still on the market and as things have resolved themselves I am in a position to buy it again.

I bought it as a pre reg, and have been the only other owner so obviously if I bought it back I’d be keeper 3. How much of an impact would that make on the value of a £31k car?

Depending on how long you keep it for then it wont make a huge difference - say for maybe 3 or 4 years

The biggest factor would be the epic depreciation that is baked in to cars of this type - you'll either lose a lot of money or a load of money.

I'd move on personally

its funny really, its actually on for more than I paid for it 6 months ago, albeit I got a really good deal. 1st year depreciation has been about 25% compared to a near 50% on some things I've looked at recently.

As for how long I'll keep it, the wife tells me its going to be a 4 year car minimum.

It will make no difference at all so if it ticks the boxes buy it.
