Small Fiesta-sized hatchback with heated seats for 4-5k?
Discussion
I'm after a small petrol "Fiesta-sized" hatchback for my wife with a cash budget of 4-5k. Upon some advice from the PH collective, I had pretty much narrowed it down to a Fiesta, Clio or Suzuki Swift but then she threw a bit of a spanner in the works and said that it must have heated seats. I didn't think that this would be too much of an issue but a trawl on A/T has come up with not many results within budget and looking at those 3 cars, not many (if any) seem to come with heated seats as standard. The only car that I found that fulfilled the brief was a 2015 Skoda Fabia but it was in Newcastle, which is over 300 miles away from where I'm located! It seems that it's quite a rare option on this class of car but we recently moved back to the UK from Canada and her old car in Canada had them and my (bigger) car here has them, so she "needs" them too! Bearing in mind the relatively modest budget, any ideas? Ideally we're looking for a manual, petrol, 5 door Fiesta-sized car that's cheap to run and insure and suitable for my teenage daughter to learn with a couple of years down the road ie not a higher performance Fiesta ST/Clio RS kind of thing.

We had a Fiesta Titanium X and that had heated seats; pretty sure it was standard. Just checked Autotrader and seems to confirm this.
Would definitely go with this, Fiesta is a great car and well specced in the top trims (heated screen etc)LuS1fer said:
There are some Fiesta STs coming in at your budget too, with a far stronger engine than the 1.0. They have very good heated seats and Fiestas have a heated windscreen to boot, a feature I miss a lot.
I'd love a Fiesta ST but high insurance? Did they do a 5 door version in the mk7? I really like the mk7 Fiesta but I was a bit cautious about the 1.0 Ecoboost, so was mainly looking at 1.25s, which probably aren't available in Titanium X spec. Maybe as a 1.4 or 1.6 NA petrol though?Cold said:
Alternatively, retro-fit heated seat kits are available via Ebay and/or Amazon which allow you to install the heated pads underneath the factory upholstery.
If you're handy with a spanner and a soldering or have a tame mechanic nearby, they could open up a wider potential market.

I hadn't really considered that as an option. I had a heated seat pad in my MINI that plugged into the auxilliary power socket but it wasn't the most comfortable thing and looked a bit like an incontinence pad plus I didn't like to leave it plugged in all the time, so kept forgetting to plug it back in. That looks like a better option though! Heated seats are a much more common feature in Canada, maybe not base model but one up from base certainly. Takes the chill off those -40C mornings! If you're handy with a spanner and a soldering or have a tame mechanic nearby, they could open up a wider potential market.
As an alternative to the heated pads how about something like this

The number of smaller cars with heated seats in your price range will be limited so the heated cushions may be the solution

I had an original shape 2011 Audi A1 which had heated seat if that helps broaden the search?
Thanks. Forgot about the A1. This one looks pretty nice!https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202511157...
There was a Clio special edition called Iconic 25 which has heated leather seats. Just checked Autotrader and the 2 of these that are for sale are both diesel but I am pretty sure they did it with the 0.9l petrol too.
Just checked Parker's and heated seats are standard on the Iconic 25 Nav model
