So few non st engines in the Evoque practically anything else would be advisable.

As would your budget...

If it must be either of the above, it's the VW. The answer is never JLR.

An Evoque if you are prepared to go for an earlier model and get a 2.2D non-ULEZ, otherwise I wouldn't touch either the Evoque, Discovery Sport or any other JLR product with the Ingenium engine, they aren't called IngeniBoom for nothing

My wife had both as company cars, I'd easily choose the Tiguan every time. It was a much better, more practical car. I hated pretty much everything about the Evoque.

Go and drive a Honda CRV and Lexus NX.

Both lovely places to sit and should be reliable.
