Lease Ending question
Discussion
Hi
My lease is ending and the engine management light on my Range Rover velar keeps coming on, the garage have changed all the possibilities but still comes on after a reset.
My question is does the lease company run a diagnostic test when you return the car.
I can turn it off by deleting the code error then comes on again around 100 miles
Car seems to run fine just worried they will charge me a fortune to find problem 🤪
Thanks for any replies 👍

My lease company, Alphabet, state that if any warning lights are on the dash at the time of collection, it could result in a failed collection, in addition to a failed collection fee of £144.
What does your lease company state in terms of the condition of the car at collection?
You might want to give your lease company a call to explain your situation and all of the steps you've done to resolve the issue.

Hi
Thanks you all for your reply’s
The Land Rover mechanic ( not a dealership ) has done everything that can be done relating to the code. It just keeps coming on usually after I have stopped and restarted the car on the 3rd restart.
I can wipe the code using a diagnostic scanner so when they pick it up the light won’t be on. But the fault is still there so will come on again on the 3rd restart
It’s something to do with coolent (P026A ) code but the car runs fine
Will I get away with it or are they likely to check , have already sent a fortune and really don’t want to spend anymore 🤪
Cheers Tony

1 - remove the bulb from dashboard cluster
2 - if 1 not possible, cover bulb with bluetack /. ducktape inside cluster so appears as off/.
As im saying - these are 2 options that shouldn't be conisdered

It will have a digital dash, therefore no bulb to cover.
