I'm looking to replace my boring EV with a sports car/GT, preferably a V8.

I've looked at and driven the V8 F-Type, both the P450 and R-575, both were great cars the R was a real muscle car.

How reliable are the modern 5.0 F-Types and do they work well as a daily driver?

I also drove an older 2016 Porsche 991.2 Turbo and was blown away by the performance and driving experience, the car felt solid and just had endless thrust but also had the same characteristics as the F-Type (i.e happy to trundle around at low speeds etc). The 991 is a good 20k more expensive than the F-Types and knocking on the door of being 10 years old.

Ideally my maximum budget would be £60k for the F-Type and I would daily the car, doing approximately 6-7k a year. I do have access to the wifes SUV for more practical needs.

Other options I considered were BMW M4/M8, V8 Vantage etc. But the Jag just looks great value when compared to the aforementioned cars. Are there any other options I may have missed?

Thanks

Edit:
I agree regards to the sports car title, I'm probably looking more towards a GT car rather than an out and out sports car.

Some criteria I m looking for:

- Ideally less than 5 years old and be able to be driven daily without being too much hassle.
- my preference would be AWD but wouldn't rule RWD out
- I m looking for a car with a sub 4 second to 60 and probably less than 8 seconds to 100. These match the stats of my current car.
- V8/V10 would be my preference.

Cars I've discarded:
Any Audi/Merc/Lexus, not keen on the brands tbh. Don t like Mustangs and they are too slow in standard form.

Stick an LC500 and Granturismo on the list.
Maybe even a Mustang.

Not sure I’d call an F-Type a sports car…

A GT for me, but the term "sports car" means something different to each individual though I think.

I wouldn't class any car that weighs more than a 1000kg as a sports car for example.

Budget drift into a 718 GT4 would be my best advice at that price point.

Emira runs a very close second place

410 Exige if you want a proper sports car most other "sports cars" are actually GT cars really.

I agree but possibly more of a “special weekend car” than a daily driver?

That’s a mega spec for a ‘bottom of the range’ GT - radar cruise, Burmeister High End stereo plus ceramic brakes. Lovely colour too, and those comfort seats are miles better than the buckets imho.

Thanks for the replies guys, some interesting cars and some I’d not even thought of. Some of the suggestions are too old/slow or just not a daily IMO.

I think as some have suggested I’m probably looking for more of a GT car rather than an out and out sports car. I like cars with that split personality where they aren’t too obnoxious when driving around at low speeds but then can turn into something that’s capable when required.
