Daily Driver Dilemma (£5-6k)
Discussion
Hi all,
I'm in a slight dilemma looking for my next purchase. I'm looking for a £5-6k new daily/commuter car as i've recently started a Graduate job; Its around a 50 mile commute (there and back) that ill need to do around 3 days a week, along with occasionally needing to travel 2+ hours away . I currently own a Toyota GT86 as a weekend/track day car and previously had access to a parents car for most other journeys, however need something i can use every day.
I'd like something remotely interesting if possible and needs to be euro 6 if diesel.
4+ seats
35+ MPG
I'm 24 so insurance is something to consider but not a deal breaker.
I don't mind hatchbacks, estates, saloons and 4 seat coupes. Higher mileage is also fine as i can do most maintenance/repairs myself, however dont want to be piling money into it if i can avoid it.
Shortlist:
- Volvo V40 (facelift)
- Honda CRZ
- Lexus IS250/CT200h
- Kia Proceed GT
- BMW 1 series (F20 fl B37)
- Clio RS (1.6T)
Your opinions and advice are welcome

Thinking back to what I was driving then:
22 - 1986 Ford Capri
23 - 1996 Nissan 200SX
25 - 1982 BMW 635CSi
Buy something interesting. Just using the GT86 is a great shout.
Check the insurance on something like a Jag XF. It would be a great thing to waft about in and may prove to be quite low priced to insure as they aren't the first choice of younger drivers.
