Cheap Estate Car Suggestion?
Discussion
hi everyone
i'm looking to buy an estate car for as cheap as possible. I have a maximum budget for £1,500, but the car needs to be low tax (less than £200 a year), fuel efficient, reliable and can go into birmingham ULEZ. i'm not scared about mileage, as long as engine is reliable. any suggestions?
only car i've realistically seen is the dacia jogger. no idea on reliability though.
i know its probably impossible in my budget, but if the car had android auto, that would be great
if anyone sees any adverts, or even has a car they maybe willing to sell, would appreciate a link too
thanks!

You say £1500, and then mention a dacia jogger (which is brilliant BTW) but they're nearer £15k.i'm looking to buy an estate car for as cheap as possible. I presume you mean £15k budget, not something one fault away from the scrapyard.
Had mine for over 3 years (extreme se spec), been 100% reliable. Check it's had the recall done on the flywheel and gearbox, as bolts undo themselves due to higher torque than the sandero engine, which can result in failure. A dodgy noise when idling is the giveaway that failure is imminent. Mine was given a new gearbox, clutch and flywheel as part of it.
It's a fantastic car, 7 year warranty, servicing is about £200 a year. Has Android auto, heated seats, clever roof cars. Dacia scores far higher than BMW, volvo, VW, Peugeot and citroen for reliability.
Some people prefer a moon mileage out of warranty touran, but then some people prefer mung beans to steak.

This is probably as good as you are likely to get locally for 1500. Dull as dishwater, but a simple non-turbo petrol engine with some service history, easy availability of parts and a common car so all local garages will know how to maintain it.

I've seen some a 2014 jogger for £1250. have no idea about the condition of the car thoughI presume you mean £15k budget, not something one fault away from the scrapyard.

Yep, my first thought was an Astra; always cheap and not a more dour prospect than anything else at shed money. This is probably as good as you are likely to get locally for 1500. Not much over 100k either, long MOT and (F?)SH...
