Hello, I have recently purchased a 2014 Toyota GT86 with 80.000 miles on the clock and really great service history. I have had the car for 4 months and I absolutely love it and everything has gone smoothly so far.

Are there any tips or tricks from any other GT86 owners? Mainly to preserve the engine health and some checks that may need to be done?

I've had mine just over 2 years now.

Have you checked if your car has the valve spring recall done? Mine hadn't (I knew this prior to buying it) and when I booked it in, I asked about doing other things while the engine was out. In the end I had the spark plugs changed and a new clutch for a smidge over £100 combined. EDIT: The recall took about a week to complete! So either make sure they're happy to give you a courtasy car (my local dealer were fine with that) or plan for it & make other arrangements.

Other that that, just keep it serviced in line with Toyota's guidelines.

Mine has been remapped. I've not driven a standard one, but I'm told it wakes the engine up a fair bit. If yours hasn't been remapped, definitely something to consider.
