I'm in a fairly fortunate position at the moment that we have 3 cars in the house hold.

1. 2015 BMW 520d Gran Turismo Msport 65K miles
2. 2008 Porsche Cayman 145K miles
3. 2026 Renault Meganne Etech < 1k miles

So far I'm covered on the diesel, petrol and leccy propelled vehicles.

The BMW does the family duties of longer journeys or when we need the space of a big car, the Porsche the majority of the time is a driveway ornament but its nice to have something a bit more fun to drive when I feel like it and don't need to ferry anything but me +1 around.

The Renault is the Mrs daily on a sal-sac scheme, but I find myself using it for local running around when she's not using it. Its fine but nothing to get excited about driving.

The BMW genuinely has been and is a great car for what we needed it to do, cheap to run, reliable, a nice place to sit and loads of room when we need it. But I'm getting the itch to change it after owning it the last 6 years.

Budget is £20k + whatever I might get for the BMW based on what's for sale and in what condition, I reckon its worth somewhere in the region of 10K.

What I am struggling with is what to replace it with, ideally something that is newer but not too dissimilar, I quite like the look of the 6 GT as its pretty much a newer version of the same car or the Tesla Model S but what else am I missing? Any gems out there in the big car field that I am not thinking of without going for a SUV thing or that comes with eye watering servicing costs.

I'm not keen on VW group stuff, some bigger Audi's (A6, A7) I like but the rest I couldn't live with the interiors.

Thanks for the suggestions, the Lexus looks promising.

I know the GT isn't thought as as a good looking car, and car taste is subjective but I couldn't part with my own money to a Genesis G80.

As your budget is around £30k I’d look at the E53 estate or late E43.
