I'm thinking of getting a mk8 golf 1.5 tsi. I sold sold my GR Yaris last year to help pay for my pilots licence and as I'm still ploughing loads of money into flying I need to keep cash in the bank, I also dont want too many unexpected bills so a newer car is preferable, therefore I want a cheap PCP monthly payment of around £150. The car needs to be a hatch or estate, I'm keen to have carplay and Im going to keep it a while so I want it to look relatively modern so I don't look too poor in the school carpark (just being honest 😀), the Mk7 to me is already looking dated although I know it's a better car. I always think you can turn up anywhere in a golf so I landed on the mk8, I'd also like to do 1-2 track days in it, so I'll sort the brakes, tyres, maybe some springs and a remap. My question is, I can't seem to find many of the 150bhp models with the multi link rear suspension, is it worth hunting down Vs the torsion beam that the lower power one has? (The power doesn't matter as I'll map them both to about 180 anyway)

Are you looking at the 8 or 8.5? I can't speak for the 8 but do have an 8.5 Clubsport and the infotainment and general look and feel are better so would go for that if it's in budget?

Oh 8 for sure, the clubsport is a proper car though, very nice! I'll get back to that sort of thing at some point!
