I've just been given permission from the purse strings to go for my dream car. In order to do so my fault drive which is currently a 22 plays M340i saloon has to go to pay fund it. I can get 31 to 32k for that visa motorway (not in the mood for time wasters selling private).
That will leave me with circa 10k with a max of 12k for a fun daily that is good to drive, petrol, comfy, reasonably quick, reliable etc

I want 2014 oldest, no more than 60k on the clock but otherwise I'm open top suggestions.
I've thought about a 2.0 tt, mini cooper s, 500 abarth, maybe something french but tbh I have no idea as it's not normally an area of the market I focus on.

What would you go for? Needs to be able to fit a 29"mtb in the boot with seats down though.

I am confused - selling the 340i to buy something for £12000 doesn’t make much sense to buy a dream car to fit a mtb?

What am I missing since I would stick with the BMW personally and I am not the greatest BMW fan.

Not sure you would get a bike in an Abarth 500 or a Mini either.

Every one should have an Alfa at some stage in their life so having had the 170 version of a Guiletta then I would have one of these

I read it as the dream car will cost circa £20k so he needs a daily to run alongside it for £10-12k?

Just to clear up some confusion as I've had wine. It will be going towards funding a mclaren.
The 340 is a daily but mostly just round town so a bit overkill...

Renaultsport Clio or Megane. Clio is auto so might suit town more. Megane is a better drive. Both hatchbacks for the bike.

Those 2 Renault sports look good. What are they like in terms of reliability?

I've driven, not owned these so don't have first hand experience.

Lots to read here.

Both are good there's another options well worth a look imo.

Astra GTC VXR it's a smidge behind the RS Megane in Cup/Cup Chassis spec but better than abon cup & because of the adjustable dampers it makes for a better daily imo:

They're easy to add Android Auto/Carplay too/they also have a huge boot.they're a cracking steer & they won't sost you the earth to run so you can concentrate your funds on the toy.
