Spotted this on Copart and thought it was worth a share for something a bit different.

Can’t post the link but search ford cougar on Copart.

Yes, it’s a Ford Cougar underneath with a Ferrari-style body kit — so not pretending it’s anything it isn’t. But for the money (already around the £2k mark and climbing), it’s kind of an interesting proposition if you’re after something a bit different.

It’s not a “purist” build and won’t fool anyone up close, but from a distance / at a glance it does the job, and let’s be honest — you’re not getting into anything that looks remotely exotic for this sort of money otherwise.

2.5 V6 so nothing wild performance-wise, but decent enough to move it along and likely far cheaper to run/maintain than anything it’s imitating.

Feels like one of those:
• cheap summer toy
• promo / events car
• or just a laugh of a project

Curious what people think — complete tat or a bit of fun at the right money?

I've always lusted after a Cougar.
The car, the car
I wonder how much it'd cost to restore?

It's a tragedy that nice 90s cars like the Cougar and the 406 coupé were butchered for this kind of nonsense.

For a banger rally to Europe type thing at a grand, yeah sure.

Nearly £3k when I’ve just looked - absolutely not!

I’d never buy it but when I clicked the link I was expecting a complete monstrosity and infact it looks reasonably smart to me.

I had a 2.5 V6 Cougar back in 2000.

A much better car than you think. Loved it

The Duratec engine was way under tuned. A touch of Lee Noble and it would have been an amazing car

Weren’t there some jokes at the time about “now you’ve had a probe, how about a cougar?”
