I ve just bought a 2022 Citroen C5X and the new logbook has just come through. I ve noticed that in the logbook it s listed as RED , but it is actually a greenish grey (amazonite metallic is the official name).

I ve checked the build sheet and the label in the door and they both state it as amazonite metallic, so I m sure it s the V5C which is incorrect rather than it having had a colour change. Red was never a UK colour for the C5X anyway.

The previous owner was a Citroen main dealer (it was the MD s car apparently) so I imagine it got registered with a load of other cars and nobody spotted the mistake.

Never seen this before. Should I be worried? is it just a matter of updating the logbook with the correct colour and sending it off to DVLA or is better to speak to DVLA directly?

If it was the Citroen dealer you bought it from I'd suggest raising the question with them to sort out.
I'm thinking that when it was originally registered they've added the details from a similar car that was registered at the same time, e.g. it may be one letter different from yours with the registration number.
Someone of course may have wrapped it...

Unfortunately I didn't get it from the original dealership (which is now no longer a Citroen dealer). A quick google about on the internet and it looks like it does happen as DVLA rely on what the dealer says it is. I think I'll just change it on the V5C and then it's done.

Don't do this, as it'll register as a colour change for Hpi etc, a real pain when you come to sell

Instead contact Citroen UK and explain. They should be able to give you a covering letter that you then send to the DVLA, who will update their records without a 'colour change'

Thanks , I hadn't thought about that, I'll give Citroen a call.
