Hi PH, I want to replace my CLS 350 CDi.

I'd prefer petrol, have a budget of £10k. My requirements are DAB+ and a/c, and I'd prefer LED headlights if possible.

Any suggestions please?

There's not much info to go on here. The 350CDI could be a 1st generation W219 or 2nd generation W218. Also you don't mention what kind of car you want to replace it with - another 4 door coupé?

If so, then the obvious choice is another Mercedes CLS. I'm on my second now.

The only other real competitor is the Audi A7, but there's others which are vaguely similar for example BMW 6 series, Audi A5, (Passat) CC. Obviously they are in a different class, and the BMW is taller.

Sorry, my brain was melting when I made this post!

It's a W218 generation CLS. I don't need a 4 door coupe, or even a 4 door in reality. A biggish 2 door that could fit rear seat passengers would do the job.

It doesn't need to be especially economical, just better than my V10 M5.

I find one big advantage of the W218 is that because its a 4 door, the front doors aren't huge - which helps when opening them in eg parking spaces.

I'd honestly just get another W218!!! I had a 5.0 V8 before my current one (also a 350CDI) and it was lovely to drive - nicer than the 350CDI but obviously about half the fuel economy. Also they tend to be better specified, some of the gen 2 CLS are quite low spec.

Perhaps oddly, I really dislike the E Class coupe. I think it's because it's based on the C Class, or at least was.

I wouldn't mind a 640i, though I do prefer the 6GC.

I hadn't considered an Infiniti - I actually quite like that.

Being pillarless helps as well as you can put the windows down to get extra head and body room when getting in and out.

I would have another W218, but I'd like to stick to petrol. I've worked out that diesel doesn't really work very well for my usage. I've even been looking at PHEV's as I can get to work and back on a single charge just about.
