Looking for an all-in-one app for detailed vehicle research
Discussion
I’m looking to buy a new vehicle and I’m hesitating between several models. I keep browsing all over the internet to find detailed information (reviews, specs, common issues, recalls, maintenance costs, test videos, etc.), and it’s taking me an endless amount of time…
Is there a website or an app that brings all of this together in one place?

Since no one is replying, I’ll answer myself
For now I’ve found CarEdge and CarVertical, but these two tools are aimed at finding sellers or information about a specific vehicle.
Does anyone know something that focuses on the model itself—owner feedback, driving experience, references to test drive videos, etc.?
Basically what people actually think, not just what manufacturers or often sponsored specialist magazines say. As ‘OMITN’ said, AI should be able to do that.
Does my request make sense?

I think OMITN was suggesting that you put your request through AI and see what it churns out.

The blunt answer is that no form of AI or similar has the capability of providing true insight and useful comparison, only the facsimile of such.
You're best to ask the broad question here as to what sort of thing you want, and let the forum do what it does best (disseminate extremely useful, accurate, and pertinent information through the medium of a massive argument).

First of all, thank you very much for taking the time to reply. I will respond to each of you.
@paul_c123: I tried Parker — it’s interesting but really quite light in terms of detail.
Honest John: It’s actually pretty good, very precise on vehicle specifications, but there are few or no owner reviews, no information on manufacturer recalls, and the running costs are based on manufacturer data rather than real-world feedback. The same goes for range, which is WLTP-rated, and there are no test videos.
What Car: also very detailed, but it mainly provides information coming from manufacturers, and the comments are from automotive journalists rather than actual owners.
@Votex: I’m not fixed on anything yet — I’m hesitating between a Passat PHEV and an e-3008… but I’m not closed to going fully electric. That’s why I’d rather have feedback from owners than information from magazines, whose tests are often limited to just a few hours of use.
@InitialDave: I understand this is the usual method, but it takes a lot of time. That said, if no tool currently exists, then I guess that will be my approach.
@Daytonagrey: I’ve tried with Gemini, ChatGPT, and even Mistral, and the result really isn’t great — the AI mixes up models and the data is often outdated.
I will keep looking, and if I don’t find anything satisfactory I will go back to the old methods
. In the meantime, if other members have any ideas I’m all ears. If I do find something useful, I’ll share it with you, as I feel there is a real need for it. Thanks again.
