Used EV options
Discussion
I’m juggling the below used options:
IX3 M Sport Pro (2023/2024)
IX XDrive 40 (2024) with comfort park
The other option is a new model Y premium RWD. Top 2 would be outright purchases and model Y more likely salary sacrifice.
I’m not looking to discuss the financial implications and understand insurance differences, but purely on experiences from people who have owned one or both.
Priorities would be comfort and ride for family of 4, quality infotainment system.
Coming from a Tucson so expecting all to be an upgrade.
Thanks in anticipation!

I had an iX40 from new for over 3 years.
Ride (unless at low speed/uneven surfaces/bumpy roads) was excellent. Low speed/bumpy road ride was not as absorbent as you would expect, you could literally feel every bump on the road. Not uncomfortable per se, but firmer than you would expect. I had 22" wheels.
Comfort, space and refinement was exceptional. One of my friends sat in mine whilst we drove on the motorway, he has a 2023 Model Y, and his first comment was how isolated the cabin was from wind, road and tyre noise compared to his car.
Turning circle is the size of an oil tanker. You get used to it, but not ideal.
Bear in mind, the boot is small for the size of car, that's because of the space needed for the rear motor and the focus on passenger space.
Infotainment is functional. It's way behind anything half decent from Tesla etc, but it's competent. Driver assistance tech is brilliant. No false positives of the car deciding to emergency brake for no reason. Driving Assistant Professional makes motorway driving much less tiring.
I've gone for another iX, but with air suspension and rear wheel steering, again on 22" wheels, and those are the two options I wish my iX40 had, as I could not go back to driving an iX in the UK without them.
With air, the iX no longer has a lot of side to side motions on uneven surfaces, ride is way better, and the rear wheel steering makes daily driving way easier (and more fun as it's more agile)

Exceptionally helpful, thank you. Did you go for the x40 second time around too?Ride (unless at low speed/uneven surfaces/bumpy roads) was excellent.
