What cars similar in size to the XC40 are equally as safe?

Volvo makes safe cars which are not only the bare minimum in passing NCAP but offer real safety.

For example crashing into a stopped lorry at 40mph I am sure there will be no intrusion into the Volvo cabin. Which other crossover will be the same? Sure they all will pass a standardised test but cruising into a lorry that is stopped or suddenly stops or a full sized SUV crashing into the crossover at 50mph which crossover will be closest to the Volvo in safety. Like for example the Chr and Lexus UX are similar in size but not sure if their A pillars and B pillars are as strong? Should overall vehicle weight be a factor?

If you are planning on crashing into stopped lorries, then you are probably best off choosing the lightest car possible?

My car has this safety feature called a windscreen
.By looking through it at the road ahead I have found so far that it is possible to not crash into things

Stop looking at your phone so much and leave a 2 second gap to the car in front.

Dont buy a car that is safe to crash and you will be more vigilant about not crashing.

Shirley if you want a car as safe as a XC40, then buy a XC40. I imagine not many similar cars will be equal to the crash worthiness as a XC40, but most will not be slightly below it.

Buy a 2018 VW Caddy.
It was more than happy doing full bore emergency stops for binbags, ley lines and parked cars so I’d imagine you’d be golden with it stopping for a stationary truck.
It’s only the transit getting larger in your rear view mirror with smoke coming from all four locked up wheels you’d need to worry about.

How would lets say an X1 or GLA compare. They both ace the NCAP but I what about real world safety?

This thread, along with the double post and new user, has all the hallmarks of some odd form of troll.

I'd say in that case jumping on a bus is probably the safest option, as crashing into things is best avoided no matter the car.

Your assuming the Volvo is the Gold standard. I have no idea like any one else if that is true or not. NCAP is the rating system and by and large reliable. I also look at the Moose test which tests steering in an emergency.

I never crashed a car other than a small bumps in 40 years, but I have has to steering during an emergency. This is what got me interested in the moose test as one Citroen estate company car was a total nightmare in this situation.

I was thinking more "a bot re-asking the questions posed to it".

Its the Elk test. Moose test is an Americanisation.
