The first three all did over 100k miles each.
As for the Dacia, our neighbour has two and the 22 plate Duster has just had a front indicator light fail and has been told by the main dealer requires a new headlight unit at just over £1000 and there are only two currently in the country.

In my experience the opposite is true, I've owned 5 Renault's over the years without any major issues and 2 family members are happily running them now The words Renault and reliable do not go in the same sentence.
My understanding is that the cost is kept down by using parts, proven parts from the previous generation of Renault, note that mercedes among others, use Renault's 1.5d engine in some of their cars
I personally would have no issue with a Dacia, it's an entry level, no frills car and does what it says on the tin

Nonsense. Have had mine for 11.75 years as a station/tip run/garden centre/general dogsbody car.Cheap to buy, cheap to run, no issues with it.
Does the job it’s supposed to do perfectly.
I parked next to what I thought was an old pristine Renault 12 on Sunday but when I started looking it had a Dacia badge on Romanian number plates. When I spoke to the owner he told me it was a 1980 model. It seems there's been a tie-up between Renault and Dacia longer than I ever thought.

Dacia Denem?You can do a lot worse than Dacia.
I’m in Romania right now….. Most of the Taxis in cities, Ubers, etc are Dacias, many with big mileages on them. I’m currently in the foothills of the Fagaras Mountains - most locals are driving Duster & Bigster 4WD variants.
As mentioned, Dacia use Renault (and some Nissan) underpinnings. This means parts are easily available, along with a good dealer network in the UK & Europe. Unlike many of the cheap Chinese brands that may be a bargain, right up to the point where you need spares that aren’t easily available.
Conclusion: Dacia make a good product, at a reasonable price point, with a good service network & decent warranty. As a bonus, they’re not Chinese. What’s not to like?

Have you had it from new? My dad's had one from new for about 10 years has only done 25k in it but no issue. Was wondering maybe how they hold up with higher mileage. Ones I have been looking at have been about the 80k to 100k mark. I wouldn't put much mileage on it. I only do about 2k a year.
