Interesting car under 8k without too much risk

Hi PH

Buying a house by myself in the coming months and wanting to buy a car off finance thats still interesting without too much risk to save cash (obviously depends on servicing, condition, luck etc)

Budget is max 8k

I wont be doing long journeys often so I think petrol makes sense
Only me so dont really need to worry about seats
fuel economy isnt too much if an issue but ideally upper 20s on a motorway run at minimum
Happy with most bodystyles

bits ive looked at:

Infiniti M37 (700 pound tax is a bit steep)
Infiniti Q50h (very top end of budget)
2014 E400 coupe petrol

I had a 335i gt before which would be good but they are out of budget

Totally off topic but if mortgage affordability / acceptance is ever going to be tight get the car finance after your mortgage approval.

Im going fairly cheap and have a decent depsoit for the house hence wanting to buy the car for cash as well. I just tend to be a bit over cautious anyway, would be my luck gearbox would go on the car and house boiler on the same month!

Mx5 weirdly hadnt crossed my mind, I like the ND ones
its definitely an option with the 1.5 just a bit worried if I need to take home something big for the house, suppose most places deliver
Golf GTI is also a good shout my worry would be it would have had 80k of the hardest miles known to man haha

Q50h is a good choice & I may well be able to assist you in landing a 16 plate one (same owner for the last 7/8 years) with FSH & a recent full fat service by Nissan around 3 months ago with 46k on the clock, it's about 1k over your budget but it'll make someone a great buy.

Message me if you're interested it'll be coming up for sale (once I find them a new car) in the next few months.

Now there are some great options at your original price point, with sensible miles.
