Ford Focus 2.3 ST Advice
Discussion
Having sold my Mazda last weekend, been looking at mk3 Ford Focus ST's however I have found a mk4 2.3 ST in a Ford dealer at sensible money (16k)
It is a 2020 in Performance Blue with lovely spec and FSH all Ford however it has done 69k
I do not do many miles so is it an issue it will be the most I have ever spent on a car just wondered what others feel.
Or would you save some money and have a Fiesta ST instead

Presumably its that price because its got 69k miles on it and if it had 96k miles it would be less 36k miles more.
Its really not a huge amount over 6 and a bit years is it.
I've sold a good few of these and bar one badly modified one we have not really seen many back. I haven't driven one that I can remember but the interior and equipment feels good quality.

I have a mk4.5 ST. https://www.focusstoc.com/ is a mine of information.
One of the main issues with this model ST is the battery, it doesn't like being left for days unused. Mine is a daily driver so I have had no issues but there is lots of talk on the above site of battery failure. As you say you don't do many miles, just bear this in mind.

It will be used most days, just the odd a week that it will left at home if I walk to work, dad had battery issues with his last Focus (1.0) I believe the issue is that they take a while to fully shut everything off.One of the main issues with this model ST is the battery, it doesn't like being left for days unused. Does this engine have a chain? Anything routine service wise to look out for?
Seems a good price from a main dealer, esp if they offer an actual warranty. My experience was Ford wanted to upsell additional stuff with no deal to be done. Hopefully you can do better.
Yes they are chain, normally main dealers will not do a deal however as my dad has had a few cars from them, he did £300 off plus half a tank of fuel and a warranty.Seems a good price from a main dealer, esp if they offer an actual warranty. Not much but it all helps at the end of the day, deal done and collect Tuesday

If you don't do big miles, then it's a good buy as the car will become a lower mileage example over your ownership.
That is the plan, I only do 3000 / 4000 miles a year also it did not drive like it had done 69k very tight with no rattlesGassing Station | Car Buying | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
