Looking for a daily driver £10-15k
Discussion
I'm looking for a daily driver and actually struggling to come up with something that meets my requirements. Does anyone have any good ideas? Here's what I'm after:
I have something fun for the weekends so the daily driver doesn't need to be particularly exciting, although it would be good if I don't actively dislike it
Any suggestions appreciated!
- £10-15k, although might stretch a little further if needed
- ULEZ compliant
- Decent enough performance for motorway cruising
- Cheap running costs & maintenance
- Reliable
- No CVT!
- I'd like to avoid a hybrid unless the battery is backed by a decent warranty
- Prefer to buy from a franchised dealership
- Don't think I really need back seats, so a 2-seater might even be worth looking at

Any suggestions appreciated!

If you have somewhere to charge at home, then a model 3 long range, 21 plate which has heat pump are now around £17k with sensible mileage. Perfect car for sitting on a motorway on Autopilot, especially when you have something fun to take out at weekend. Battery should be good for over 300,000 miles before it's junk, and tesla are rated most reliable EV manufacturer and way above likes of audi, skoda, merc etc (model Y most reliable according to car owner surveys, m3 not far behind). Also quite quick, and actually pretty decent in the corners for a car weighing 1800kg, 0-60 in 4.2s for when the moment calls.
Its more than your 15k budget, but the fuel savings and no need for annual service will make that back in a year probably.
