Hi
My 116i looks like it has come to the end and so I am browsing auto trader for a new car.
I want something fun and reasonably quick but have been told to buy a reasonable and reliable car after my high mileage JCW caused a few arguments.
Any idea's what to get? Auto would be preferred.
Current ideas are 2011 A4 2.0 (top end of my budget £10k) or a £4k Seat Leon FR. Or do I buy a cheap run around and keep the cash and save up for a 335d or a Guilia Veloce which are my 2 favourite cars.

I've always wanted an Abarth 595c or something similar in a ridiculous colour... a lot of fun and you could get a relatively low mileage one for £10k not sure the most reliable.
A bit more of a sensible hat I would look at a BMW I3, if you can make the range work at your budget basically 100 miles they are a lot of fun and well made good cars I had an I3s and it didn't quite suit my needs but truly miss it. For £10k you can get a nice early one.
But you mentioned a bit bigger with the Audi option for £10k it might take a bit of a hunt but you could possibly get a Focus ST in some variety but would be higher miles.
ETA I just read the auto requirement... at least the I3 fits in that.

2011 is too old if you plan on keeping the car for a while, I'd go for something under (say) 11 years or younger. If this means, its a newer less posh car, so be it. If you do go for 2011 or older, be prepared for some extra spends in addition to the usual maintenance; or DIY some of the inevitable repairs.
