Has anyone got one of these yet? I see a few comments on the price thread from months back but wondered if anyone went for one in the end.

Slightly quirky looks but looks like a good second car. We currently have an i3S and recently had an ID.3.

Looking at a new small urban car with occasional trips just outside M25 so test drove one a couple of weeks ago (just after an i3S - still very impressive) and as a paying customer not on one of the employee scams could not justify the extra several grand over almost all its opposition - still testing - maybe try a T03 next

We've had an Inster since May and really like it. Nice amount of proper buttons and amazing rear interior space for a sub 4m car if you get the sliding rear bench in the 02 model.

I would agree it is expensive but I see dealers are already offering good discounts and with the new EV grant will make it cheaper still. I think it will live in the shadow of the Renault 5 as I've only seen one other on the road. The looks are a bit divisive but my wife had her heart set on a Jimny and its pretty close if you take off your glasses.

Yeah I've seen there are some pretty good deals on it, seems to be tons of stock.

I go on and off the looks, I love that angle of your photo, and the interior is a brilliant little thing, but I struggle a bit with he back.

My wife looked at this to replace her Mini e which is due to go back soon. Likes the quirky look and practicality, but it's just so darn slow. 0-60 in over ten seconds was a deal breaker.

Is 0-60 very relevant for a shopping car? 0-30 or 0-40 is much more aligned with its likely use and unless you've got 3 fatties onboard and a load of shopping it should move off reasonably briskly.

Yeah, we have an i3S at the moment so this is a concern. That being said we've had a Leaf in the past and that wasn't exactly fast.

I was thinking about these (and the Grande Panda) so registered interest with the local dealer who promised to contact me when they had a demonstrator. They didn't (nor did Fiat)

I bought an i3...

It feels pretty nippy even if the actual 0-60 is 10s. I don't think I'd crave for any more speed in a shopping car really.

Hi Andy wavey

Bouncing this - potentially looking at replacing the Up; really want a Honda E, but struggling to justify a 5 year old EV for £14-£15k when (with discounts) these are now looking more reasonably priced with warranty, longer range - the 02 model is already <£20k with barely any miles on it.

Yes, it's not as funky as the R5 but I'm not a great fan of French cars, and the extra practicality of this is a boon as it'll just be a commuting workhorse alongside the second car.

Anyone else take the plunge?

How’s everyone enjoying their Insters?

We’re collecting our 02 in orange on 2nd January. Over £6K off list.

Totally missed this Matt, great to hear from you! We really considered it, but there were just a couple of niggles we (well, I) didn't like. 1. It's too narrow like an Ignis, so while I like the looks, on the road it looks a bit too Doris. It's a shame as if its track was a bit wider it would be a South Korean Yeti style car. 2. It did not feel zippy enough for my liking. I don't know the figures but it felt 2nd gen Leaf speed, not terrible, but 'could be better'.

In the end we stuck with keeping the i3S for a bit longer.

Edit, we ordered another ID.3 as the long term second car, the one I had was excellent despite the kicking it got on launch and we kind of missed it after it went.

Collected a new one last week, 02 spec in black. Very pleased with it so far, though it's early days.
This car replaces a scooter for commuting - only five miles each way but I leave at 5:30am so wanted something quiet and with mimimal faff, and cabin preheating is a nice bonus.

My choice was limited because we have a very small off-road parking area and anything wider would make it hard to get to the front door. Preference for electric pretty much limited the choice to the Inster, a Dacia Spring or maybe a Fiat 500, and the Inster won on practicality.

Go back to the start of December and we had no plans to get an EV, then we found ourselves buying a Kia EV3 as our main car, and having got a charger installed and experienced the effortless nature of an EV it was an easy decision to make. The EV3 will squeeze into the space for charging but we have to take the gates off and it sticks out a bit - fine for once or twice a week.

The only doubt still nagging me is that I'm well aware of the ICCU issues in Hyundai / Kia cars but I'll take the chance given the warranty cover and the fact that both cars can do pretty much everything we need so we can handle one being off the road (while the warranty is good there's no guarantee of a loan car).

Other half decided she wanted to get an EV to replace her 1.2 Picanto Shadow.

Looking around at what small EVs are on the market, it came down to an R5, Inster, or the soon to be released Kia EV2.
Anything from Stellantis was ruled out for being a bit rubbish. Dacia Spring just too slow and tiny battery. Chinese stuff risky for spare parts and high insurance. MINI too expensive if you want a decent range.

The R5 was dropped because you need an expensive version to get all the toys that she's used to having with her Picanto.
EV2 is getting a bit too large for her to be comfortable driving.

We had a test drive this morning, and she loved it. I have to say it surprised me. Fast enough, rides well on the potholed tracks that pass for roads here in Cornwall. A bit cramped widthways for me in the driver's seat (right knee touching the door- same as the Picanto), but that aside it feels like a proper, grown-up, car.
Only let-down is no wireless Carplay - have to look iat getting a USB wireless adaptor.

Managed to get a reasonable deal on an 02 trim level - £22,750 inc Khaki pearl paint.

Dealer reserved one of the two Khaki with beige interior cars that have just arrived at the port, so if that goes through we should have the car in 3 weeks. Failing that, it'll be early April for one of the cars on the next boat.
