Hi all, I wonder if anybody can throw some light on our issues, the Kia dealer cannot.

Fuel consumption issues. A random issue in that sometimes the car will use much more fuel than on another similar trip. For example, same day, exact same journey just about 90 minutes later, same weather and traffic conditions, on one journey it was 38mpg, on the other 55mpg. Same driver on both occasions driving in the same way. On other occasions when the fuel consumption is ridiculous the brakes smell hot afterwards. I have suggested brake binding issues but the garage says 'no evidence'. I assume they are 'by wire' rather than by direct pressure on the pedal as in older cars. Last week I was descending a reasonably steep hill, needed to slow down a bit so applied pressure to the brake pedal, car slowed as required (no gear changes). When I released the brake pedal the car continued slowing down at the same rate for several seconds, then 'free-wheeled' correctly. The only cause I can think of for this is the brakes not being released.

Lane assist - despite both systems being manually deactivated on each journey (steering wheel icon and car in lane icon) the steering wheel icon randomly re-appears and the system has become active. Frustrating but not really a problem.

Any ideas gratefully received
