I know this is a bit of an odd question but can anybody describe or post a picture of the correct route, i.e. over the top of the alternator, around the back and where the connector would normally sit?

Second question is the connector on the loom side readily available?

On the US 3 liter cars, I usually find the O2 sensor wire routed up to the top of the AC compressor bracket, zip-tied to one of the two top bolt lugs. The harness-side connector is usually reachable from the top of the car - the harness runs along with the wiring for the three front coils and the crank/cam/oil pressure wiring, until it reaches the oil dipstick, then goes up over the AC compressor bracket. The connector is usually around the top of the AC compressor.
