Top Gear Track Attack ?
Discussion
I thought i would post up this to see what sort of interest there might be ?
might be a good day there to get our cars timed
perhaps we can invite some of the Ultima's too ?
Does anybody have a good relationship with plans ? perhaps they can helps us book the track.
I would like to see some of the bigger power cars have a go - might be interesting to see the times compared to the M600
who is interested ?

Just spoke to Plans
not looking good, Mclaren have booked the track out for months at 5K per day and often don't turn up to even run a car
only one car is allowed on track at a time and it will have to be driver training
we may be able to book an hours track time for approx £360
however - if somebody has a contact at Mclaren we have more chance of getting on track
if we wanted the track for a day - it is 5K !

i'd be in as well.
if we break it down...
if people take it in turns doing 3 runs (say 5mins to complete) that's 84 runs in a 9-5 day, taking into account a 1 hour lunch break.
@5k thats just under £60 per 5mins session. About 21 cars would make it 4 goes each. 20mins on track for £240 seems a little expensive!
Perhaps you could double up people on track if realeased within about 10sec of each other which would still avoid the figure 8 problem!
i'm still interested if things get better.
cheers

I remember when we went there before the biggest problem was that becuase it's a figure of 8, you can't have multiple cars out. IIRC we took it in turns to do 3 lap runs. I remember Phil, Justin and Rob being there but can't for the life of me remember who else was there!
I was there as was Dan (before he crossed to the 911 side). They had two cars out at the same time but the instructors from Plans kept a close eye on where each car was to ensure there was not a coming together at the cross over. They also did some vmax runs down the runway at the end.obes said:
