Battery light flashing...

(Well not at the moment....because the whole engine is in bits!)

The battery light flashes almost continually on the dasboard, plus the headlights flicker when I rev the engine.

I replaced the alternator, that didn't solve it, and a wiring loom that Ford reccommended I change.....that didn't work. If anything, the headlight flickering is worse. While the engine is out, has anyone got any ideas of what I could test/replace?? Anyone had this problem??

Replace the relays, battery and check the main earths or even wire up an extra earth from the engine or battery to the chassis invade there is a break in the line somewhere or theres a perished cable? Sounds a tricky one.

My cars interior lights always come on when I accelerate hard and go off when I lift off the throttle so have to have them off all the time, it's been like that since day one and nobody I've asked in 3 years has any idea what could cause it. Adds character, I should change the interior bulbs to red.lol

my battery light does this also. but ive checked it and the battery is always charging and cant find the reason for it so i ignore it. it does always do it. it can go weeks with no flicker then will flicker for another week.

Trouble is....the headlights flickering are a bit of a hazard, the battery IS charging fine too. I'll try adding in some earths,and change the relays....why not!? It's not as if I haven't got enough to do lol.

Daddysumo upgraded his wire from the alternator to the main fuse board to cure the lights dimming... sounds like a break in this to me?

My battery light was also flashing on under hard acceleration. When it was it at Plans the other week for it's service, they found one of the fuses wasn't seated correctly and now the flickering has stopped.

I'm no electrician so I have no idea what the correlation could be.

Thanks for the ideas guys....I suppose I'll just keep replacing stuff until something works!
