I'm going to look at a couple at the weekend.

Obviously cracked manifold(s) is one to look out for - anyone got a picture of what I need to look out for, and on the car if possible?

Many thanks

Unless you take a mirror and torch you won't see a cracked manifold. I found mine by feeling the gas escaping from the rear manifold just after starting from cold (for obvious H&S reasons!), no idea how you'd get under the front one though?

Thanks bud. Was it obvious when you felt it?

On the 2.5 the front turb/manifold has a cover over it. Remove this (3 bolts) and the manifold can be seen. Still best with a torch though.

Ticking sound on gentle acceleration from cold = cracked manifold or loose exhaust/turbo.
