Production numbers

Is there a list of how many M12's were ever made, ideally by model type, anywhere?

Just curious to know how many 3R's were ever made. Mine is no:140 on a 04 plate so they couldn't have made that many as they finished in 05?

Is there a list with what production numbers have been written off? Factory maybe?

There was a thread on here that was running for quite a while and i think we got pretty close to the mark, as we got the person who claimed to have one of the last production models with an R stamp and one of the members owned the last GTO3 without the R stamp, so we just added the two numbers together, i can not remember the number but i think it was in the 600's, the M400's and GTO3R shared the same R stamp.

Approx 600 in total. As Chris says, the last 240 made had an 'R' prefix, which covered both 3Rs and M400s. As 75 of them are M400s, that would make 165 3Rs. I've not seen a breakdown of the remaining 360 ish into 2.5 and 3 variants. Unfortunately getting the exact numbers out of the DVLA isn't easy as they seem to have lumped them all together and with a number of other models too.

How about we all contribute to a list. It could turn out to be very useful.

eg,

MODEL--YEAR--ID(last 4 digits)--COLOUR---LOCATION
blah------blah---------blah------------blah----------UK

or would this be too much of a security risk?

I could set up a wiki in Nobleparts if you'd like, that way it would be secure and only available to owners. I was thinking something along the lines of

Chassis No, Date of Registration, Model, Engine, Gearbox, Colour, Current Owner (username), No of Previous Owners, Location (country), Any Other Info

Owners could fill in as much/little (or leave blank) as they like.

What do you reckon, would people be prepared to fill it in?

I don't think the 3Rs were numbered as a separate batch (ie from 1 to 165 or whatever). Mine is a Dec 2004 3R and is number 200, so I guess the 3Rs and 400s must have been numbered together as one batch. Number 201 may have been an M400, 202 a 3R etc.

Ah I see. So mine is 140 of 240, which was a mixed bag of 400's and 3R's.

The only accurate way is for the factory to release the exact numbers made.
Then for the DVLA to come up with what's left on their books.
Add to that the exports.
Using this forum will not show the many owners who don't bother with this site.

If you do that you`d have to just use `Noble` for the DVLA. My 3R is registered as a `Noble GDT R` and I`ve given up trying to get them to correct the description.....

Yes, that's what I reckon. But 3R and M400 production wasn't fully concurrent (was it?) so the lower 3R numbers should be sequential. Not sure where the dividing line is though.

Or maybe its all down to whichever number Lee decided to give it when he woke up in the morning...

My best guess is the time it came off the production line. So mine is 1:40pm.

Or maybe it is the amount of miles it was designed to do before the damn manifold cracked?

Mine is a 2004 04 3r and is build number 146 in titanium silver

I've been collecting M400 owners from postings on here (just user name, name and colour, no serious stalking)and have 29 at the moment, not bad from a theoretical 75 less exports, write offs etc.
