Picked up my car from jetstream,

Firstly had a great morning watching the Vmax guys destroying cars, rubber and other things, highlight had to be the nissan GTR killing a 599 GTO! Thanks for the blast in your car joust and nice to meet you mrpbailey!

There were some parts I fitted which people asked questions about during my rebuild and now have some answers after driving upto edinburgh,

The spa gt mirrors don't vibrate at all and reduce wind noise a huge amount!

I replaced my rubber door seals with a square profiled rubber and now get NO wind whistling in the passenger side window, it used to happen at 70mph and really bug, now it's fine at doubt that! (tested on runway) wink

The new spoiler mounts are solid, the spoiler doesn't vibrate or wobble like it used to with standard mounts, also gives a better rear view!

The fidanza flywheel seems to make te car rev no quicker when at standstill, when on boost it is quicker BUT that may be helped by bigger injectors and a yellowshed remap wink

After the toyos fell apart onthe rollers it's back on eagle F1's and feels great, lots of grip and handles very well. The front end also sticks like glue with the carbon infills and splitter, turn in is now excellent after the tracking has been done.

My cars original owner Rob was at bthorpe and just by chance recognised him, he seemed to enjoy seeing the car again, his 430 scuderia sounds more fun though! Lol

My car claimed it's first victim, The splitter had a blackbird minus a heartbeat and a few feathers after being stuck to my front end for the last hour before I got to Edinburgh! smile

Away out to play now!

Forgot to add, my nice old powdercoated floor sealed with neoprene tape and silicone around the footwell got a good soaking through Cumbria, lots of standing water and heavy rain but carpets are still bone dry! So glad!

Could you take a photo and send me a close up of the mirror connecting to the car?

I got some but a bit concerned about how they fit? due to the curvature of the door plate.

Me too! Thanks for posting the comment about the mirrors. I've had them in my online shopping cart several times, then backed out due to concerns about vibrations. Please post a picture of how they attach to the door, or copy me on the mail you send to hoyin.

hey guys,

ill just post pics here incase others want to see,

here are two pics of the mounting plate, i used the original hole closest to the window with the initial bolt, then drilled a new hole for the front bolt to go through, i then used a file to flatten off the lower part of the plate so it wouldnt touch the painted part of the door, then i had jetstream fill the original front hole and re-paint the black area.

Car looks good, like the idea of the number plate brackets, so you can remove the mesh. Could you post a link to the site for these mirrors, like the look of them. Cheers

A similar style of mirror is available at much lower cost from a few traders on that auction site. Claim to be autoclaved and quality looks good on the site. I haven't had a set in my hands mind - I've just plumped for the 360 style carbon mirrors. Will post up when they arrive (Hong Kong)!

Think it took about 3 days Mark, (a day to remove, a day to clean the chassis and drill the holes out and repaint/seal, then a day to re-screw the floor back on once it returned from powder coating. Finesse done that for £120 if I remember right.)

Right all, I need a steer.

Ferrari 360 carbon mirrors have finally arrived from Hong Kong, and are nicely manufactured. Anyone recognise the following photo/car? I found the pic on the web somewhere a while back, and it inspired me to buy the mirrors.

It would be useful to speak with whoever fitted them before I attack mine! I've tried searching on here without success, though I seem to recall a thread mentioning someone buying some from the US, and them subsequently arriving from Hong Kong. I believe they are the same mirror.

Thanks,

Dom.
