A proper hello and introduction from an Edinburgh owner.....
Discussion
Hello Everyone.......I thought it was about time that I properly introduced myself and said hello to fellow forum users.
I bought my silver 2002 2.5 GTO back in May knowing it needed several jobs doing to return her to former glory (including ECU and floor, suspension etc etc).....well I finally got the Noble back last week and have been loving every minute since. Big thanks to the guys at Jetstream who have had the car for the last 6 weeks and done a serious amount of work on the car and it now runs and drives amazingly well. Also Martyn (Trimman) fitted new carpets and some other fantastic trim-ware.
Some of you already know me from various questions and the odd posting here and there - thanks Tux and Bondy for answering repeated questions.....and of course the fantastic Tuxman suspension kit! Handles like a dream and got the settings spot on for comfort.
Having visited a few Noble "Specialists" for the refurbishment process, I cannot stress how much I rate Matt and Dave over their competition in terms of Knowledge, price and enthusiasm. Certainly they have the making of a fantastic venture now that they are going to start doing it full time between them.
I'm based in Edinburgh and know there are a few owners in Dundee / Aberdeenshire areas. Not aware of any other Noble owners in Central belt though?
Cheers
Nick

Hi Nick, welcome from a fellow Nobber.
I'm not far away from you in Angus. Don't know any in the Dundee area but there are quite a few in Aberdeen. It would be great to have a Scottish get-together (meet and/or a run) sometime soon if we could get some decent weather. I'd be happy to organise it if there's any interest.

Hi Iain,
You are not too far away, I often visit family in Aberdeenshire - maybe 4 times a year.
I think the chap from Dundee may have actually sold his earlier this year, it was a purpley blue (dare i say Portofino Blue?) 2.5. One of my friends says he sees one in the Dundee area from time to time in silver but that may be an owner from further north of course.
A Scottish meet would be good, I'm all for that.
Cheers

It's peeing down with rain at the moment plus the carpet is covered in bits of leaves! Not the best advertisement for Trimmans quality work. You can see a small portion of the dark grey / almost black carpet in my last pic. Basically I had the entire floor replaced and chassis cleaned up and repainted.
The old carpet was disposed of and Martyn re-carpeted the entire floor and "boxed" in the dipped section immediately after the seats (more flush floor now).
The new carpet is a really good match with the older carpet on the sides and tunnel which where in pristine condition anyway.
My additional purchase of the floormats and headrests really makes the interior like new!
I had the whole interior cleaned and alcantara professionally cleaned.

I had that done by a Noble specialist in Scotland - really one of my first jobs along with all the braking system overhaul and general good tidying.
Cost wise it amounted to probably circa £1k all in but there was a lot of work involved including all new alloy sheeting (better grade than Noble used) all the prep work on the floor chassis itself and then the repainting.
I wanted the job done properly and the figure I paid seemed to be either the same if not cheaper than a few other quoted.
Certainly John Noble Motorsport quoted £1000 but that excluded VAT and no prep or painting work - just removing old floor and fitting new floor with new rivets and sealant etc.

Thanks Jamie,
Yes I cannot believe it has taken so long....but good things come to those who wait! haha
Really very happy with the car, John at MV Turbos did a great job with the early stuff and then it went down south for a while as I had a contract in London so it made sense to take the car with me and have it attended to down there.
Cheers

Hi Simon, Its been a long time coming but worth the wait! Dave and Matt really pulled out the stops and I probably went overboard in terms of getting things changed and upgraded.....but worth every penny.
The next time I go down to Jetstream I'll ask if I can have a go on their proving ground test track - a seriously impressive place by all accounts.
The Tuxman dampers are seriously good. The setting is spot on and handles like it's on rails, the Jetstream boys did a full Geo and corner weighting so it's all perfect.
My mate Mark came along and he drove part the way back to Edinburgh. He could not believe how well the car handled and accelerated. He's now tempted to buy one!
I'll be investing in a TDS before I track her though.......
