Best track cars/drivers car

As in previous thread my friend is looking for a track car, so we typed best track car into Google, and fair enough some good track cars but not a mention of a Noble, so we started looking at top 100 best drivers cars, not a mention of a Noble, we looked at EVo, Autocar, lots of others, Noble dont get mentioned once, not even in the top 100.
I think seen as though the Noble M400 won so many best drivers car awards you would have thought it would at least get a mention, i'm just wondering if i'm missing something, Lotus elise/exige etc.. are in the top 10 on each of these same websites. Its as if the Noble does not exist.
Type in Noble M400 and all of a sudden there are loads of websites praising the car on being the best handling car, the best driving experience, the best track car, nearest thing to a real race car you will ever get, so it doesnt make any sense, its just taking the mick when an EVo is getting listed as a best drivers car when its not even a drivers car its a computer game on wheels. What a joke.

I think the Noble's (in all guises including M400, however rightly or wrongly acclaimed) reputation for going 'bang' makes them less of a proposition, at least out of the box anyway. I have an Evo bookazine thingy for UK tracks and it has a good review of their best "track & road racers" and the M400 wins with a good margin. This was in (mostly) good company too as the test included: Morgan roadster, Boxster S, MX-5, Westfield. Caterham CSR 260, Westfield Sport 2000S, 350Z, Atom 245, Exige S2, Grinnal Scorpion, TVR Sag and a Radical SR4.

I guess their 2011 track car of the year will follow soon as their road COTY was just released.
My money would go on cars in this order, forgetting Nobs for a second:
1. GT3 RS (£££ but the ultimate IMO)
2. CSL (brakes & suspension mods)
3. Z4MC (brakes, suspension, stripped out)
You want something with a modicum of reliability obviously.

Having owned a few of the cars mentioned above.....
I don't really see the appeal of the csl. Playstation gear shift, slipping clutches and it feels too much like an ordinary m3.
If you are looking for a dedicated track day car I don't think you can go too far wrong with one of the smaller radicals. A real event to drive, really light so cheaper on consumables and as quick as most other things you will come across.

Ok what would your top 10 be of best track cars?
Split into categories based on cost, because alot of silly websites have a mixture of 130k cars mixed in with cars under 10k in their top 10, completely different categories with massive gaps in performance and numbers.
Top 10- 120k - 300k, i.e. Noble M600 range, Atom 500, GT2 RS etc...
Top 20( because they are more options in this range- 10k to 120k - Exige 240, Noble M400, radical, atom 300, EVO 360, Gt3, Ultima Gtr, M3 CSL etc...
Top 10 - cars under 10k - mx5, mini, miatta, audi A4 etc...
The problem is getting a short list for each category, so that i can then create a poll to put them in order, and of course we have to traet each car as stock, beacuse obviusly some people may have spent a fortune on an RX7, but it still would have to go into the under 10k category.
If people put forward there short lists, i can combine then, so it may be the case that we may end up with a top 30 poll etc..

Radical as a dedicated track toy is amazing. I got the baby of them all last year a clubsport, albeit slightly modded over standard with a busa engine and rear wing. I don't really see the appeal of the csl. Playstation gear shift, slipping clutches and it feels too much like an ordinary m3.

ye i had a rethink and im not sure it will work this way , "f" it i have a better idea to get the Noble put on the list of best track cars when searched in Google ;P,(where it belongs) and of course seen as though most people who buy them do so for track use, and that it was critically aclaimed as one of the best handling, most engaging, fun to drive, road legal track cars, i think it has earned a mention and does not deserve to nbe forgotten so easily by the same magazines and websites than awarded it drivers car of the year awards not so long back ;/
