Looking for a Light Weight Crank Pulley

Hello mates,

I would like to get a light weight crank pulley made to put on my car since I will be doing some mods in 3 weeks. I am interested in CAD drawings/files if I cannot get one made from the UK. If I had the CAD drawing, I would get one made in the United States where I'm located.

Its just a suggestion, but how about getting the crank pulley scanned in digitally by high res laser and have the company scanning this to give you the CAD data at the end?

How much lighter are they, Andy, and would they work well with a Fidanza Flywheel?

they are around 1lb when the std one is 2kgs from memory so massive weight saving.

works well with any flywheel... more weight to be saved in the flywheel though.

forgot to mention that the main reason for changing the pulley is to reduce the gearing on alternator when we fit different cams and rev it harder... if you stick with the original pulley and rev it past 7000rpm it kills the alternator in just a couple of laps on track

I am willing to buy one, but I talked to a member on this forum that had the group buy and he said that his friend may not be interested in making more. Can someone give me the website or give me an email address of where to buy one and I will.

Hi, i think Jeff contacted me on your behalf, i got mine from a group buy that Steve (daddysumo) arranged.

If you get stuck can't you get one copied from the one i sold to Jeff? He has many mechanical engineers at his disposal, it should be fairly easy to measure and input the data into CAD

That I do, but no laser reverse engineering tools to scan it and generate the CAD file. I'm not keen on doing a copy via hand measurements of the pulley I have in the garage. I guess I'll look into the cost of a laser scanning service. There are lots of shops in my San Francisco Bay area that can do the CNC work.

I think Jetstream had some to go into stock so worth contacting... if there are none left then i'm sure they can arrange for some more to be made as seems lots of people want them

Can anyone answer my question regarding if this is ok for the 2.5 and other than lightness what benefit does it give if revving to normal speeds?
