Air-Con removal
Discussion
Tempted to remove my air con, it's never worked properly in the 3 years I've owned the car. I've never felt the need for it either so may aswell get the benefit of loosing a few kg's.
To the few who have done this I'd like to know a bit more of what's involved other than pulling out the various parts. I assume a different belt arrangement is needed but that's as far as my thoughts go without taking things apart.
Cheers

That makes two of us.I dont know about removing the unit but if you do and decide you need something temporary on the odd occasion, you could try clamping something cheap like this to the rollcage next to your head. I dont know how good it is but im sure its a lot lighter than the standard unit and easier to maintain.

Legally you need to get the refrigerant reclaimed then you can remove the various parts. You will need a differant bracket to replace the Compressor one & shorter belt.
Dave @ Jetstream will be able to help with the bracket.
