Alernator wiring diagram

Hi Guys...

I have an ongoing alternator electrical problem with my GTO 3 and i think someone may have altered the wires that go to the 3 pin plug on the back of the alternator.

i have a black wire,a blue wire,and a red wire. the red wire comes from the plug and then loops back into the alternator on a mini spade connector.does anybody know where the wires should go,and which pins they should be connected to,or have a circuit diagram of the charging system???

The original problems were the headlights pulsing bright and dim and the battery light flashing on and off. After replacing the alternator the problem persisted, we found that the alternator wires have been cut and reconnected, we soldered the wires to replace bullit connectors that had been used but ther was no improvement.

I wonder if someone had connected the wires wrongly.if someone has the same car and could take a photo of the connector and where the wires go it would eliminate that as a problem.

The alternator is on a test bed at the moment that simulates the car. Hopefully between that and correct wiring, we can sort it.

does the voltage go up and down as the lights go bright and dim ?

what voltage do you have ?
