who wants to set a track record?

I was wondering if anybody fancied bringing their car over to see if they can set a track record on the newly opened race track in Cyprus, seen as thugh the driving season is over in the UK , here is your chance to have a holiday with a couple of weeks, or however long of perfect driving weather.
i'm a crap driver so i personally dont stand a chance, but as we know a competant driver in a track setup Noble is a potent combination and i would love to see how it would compare to the competition.
Here is a vid of a friend of mine in his z4m, roughly lapping at 1 min 20, the lap record so far is 1min12.

If anybody is interested, you could turn it into a nice driving holiday and i will help anybody with all the logistics of bringing your car over. It is an easy route with lots of nice roads on the way, channel tunnel, through france, ferry from italy to greece(24hr of relaxing) 2 hours to athens and then ferry to cyprus, from south UK the drive to the ferry in italy only takes about 11 hours.
If nobody comes then i will just have to learn how to drive
...it would be a shame to not put a Noble on the board.

...it would be a shame to not put a Noble on the board.i did think of that as an option, but then i thought if was going to do that then there are some good drivers over here i could use, but then there is the case of a mishap, so its always better taht happens when the owner of the car is driving ... if i can find a company taht will insure me fully comp and cover me for track days and the full replacement value of the car with modificatins... then this is definately an option i would consider, and feel free to drive it into a wall

There is a map of the track on the other thread, titled "more videos required", i decided i'm going to stick my Toyos on, some ds2500 brake pads and give it a go, so any tips on driving line etc... would be appreciated, basically i need schooling ... its quite a slow track, but for a 1 lap time attack i dont suppose i need to worry too much about oil temps?

Cyprus is a small island, its not much of a track to have conquered, but if we succeed it not only comes with the title of record holder for that track but the entire country....you will be held aloft as a driving god to the entire racing population of a country, big fish in a small pond springs to mind

Tips are a hard and potentially dangerous thing to give out over the net mate. The worry would be that you go out and try to set the lap record on your first lap and that will only end in tears! Unfortunately the best way is to learn by doing and ideally having someone who knows how sitting next to you.
Nobles are surprisingly easy on the limit but knowing where it is takes practice. I think your best bet would be to spend a few days there, get some tuition if it's available and maybe watch a few more videos (of lots of different people).
On PH there are a fair few racers from various places, series and talent levels. Perhaps ask in one of the motorsport forums or the trackday forums? There could be someone nearer willing to give you a hand!
I do a lot of car testing but I don't compete (yet) and am yet to take the Noble on a trackday, but I will be next year however so that's all the advice I can give for now.

Sounds like we are on ... track is open everyday, and the track owner is a friend of a friend, after you have had a chance to master the track we will see what times are like, if you start to lap faster than the current lap record then we will advise them to record and time an official run.
After the practice runs if you feel the cars geo needs tweaking, we can take it to another friend and adjust camber etc... until you are happy with how it drives.
Its a case of whenever it suits you really, i will pm you my contact details etc..

Went and did about 30 laps today.. lots of fun, i did a 360 spin in style whilst trying to learn too fast on the earlier laps
When i went back out, i started to naturally find the driving lines, found the correct gears and speed for entering and exiting each corner and really started to get immersed in the driving experience, and found everybody else had left the track about 20 minutes previous.
We did not do any accurate timing, but one of my earler laps was 1min22, i'm pretty sure i improved on that a graet margin on my later laps, but it has been a great learning experience for me and now i know for sure a few things have to change on the car for next time i go.
The Michelin PS3 are definately no good for track.
I need better stopping power.
The T28's are coming off and the T25's are going back on and i am going to detune the car to approx 400bhp or less.
My friend who was follwing me in his Lotus 340R , noted that i was getting quite a bit of body roll on the back end, do i need to upgrade the springs, i have stock springs on the back, could they have lost their strength over time?

Are you getting too much turbo lag due to the larger turbos and feel like for such a twisty track you'll be better off with more responsive power? Keep practicing around the track Chris

... i am going again, its additive... i will definately be timing and videoing properly on the next attempt, today was to test the water, next time im going to jump in..... i was trying too hard at the beginning, near the end i felt like i had found a natural flow and was going faster with far less effort...less braking, less acceleration between corners, you know i realised that you dont need to push the engine hard on a small track like this, just find a good line, but the grip of the tyres were definately being tested ... I think track tyres and firmer springs will make a big difference... my power is just wasted and means nothing on a track like this... the fastest car is the one that can take corners the fastest.
How does the car feel Chris ? Does it understeer when you turn in to the corner or on the way out under power ?

Do not change turbos use switchable boost for a reduction in power , if you unplug your boost controller it will run actuator pressure which should equal 400 bhp .
