i am considering my engine rebuild

some of you have already done this

i plan the following

ported heads
hot intake cam
forged pistons - did the rings come pregapped or did you have to set the gap
uprated valve springs
mod to the camchain tensioner
new clutch - i will try for the helix paddle and an uprated pressure plate (might have something made to suit)
new mains - where can i get them
new big ends - do ford sell ?
new rod bolts
new oil pump

alternator switch to stop it overcharging at high revs

the biggest question is

my enginge is in perfect condition and very low miles
would it be easier to just buy an AER engine(9.0:1 cr and stock valve springs) and sell my own

Only thing you would save on is the pistons, everything else would still need to be done... And you won't sell your engine for much.

I want a set of pistons for my stock rod engine so if James wants some as well that's 3 sets for a group buy lol

How does an AER engine differ from a brand new standard Ford engine? Physically and pricewise.

If that's all it is then what's the price difference?

its a spacer behind the tensioner - if the pressure fails the chain will not jump off
