Was looking at one of these...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ODYSSEY-PC680-HIGH-PERFO...

Anyone fitted one to a Noble?

My friend has one in his track car subaru and it's not been a problem even though the car sits for weeks between use.

any experiences welcome

Cheers

Been using the Odyssey Racing 35 for over two years now with no issues at all, l keep it on a trickle charger when the car is not in use & it's been 100%.

thanks guys,

Why was it useless Tux?

I see the Varley Red top 40 weighs in over 14kg, over 2KG more than the varta jobbie I have fitted at the moment, the racing battery you quote Kev is 11KG, the one in my link appears to be 7KG which would make a 5KG. However if it's not up to the job and the ones that are good weigh the same as standard, perhaps I should stick with what I've got which works fine at the moment. smile

cheers

Graham

The red top is better unless you let it go flat then it's a bin job as once fully flat they can't retain a proper charge again.... The odessy on the ultima was too small and so is the one you linked to, I plan to use the larger version... It's still 6kgs lighter as the stockone is 15kgs.

Got the PC925 in my TVR - smallest I can get away with as I don't have power sockets in the underground parking to keep it topped up. Will happily start the car after it having sat for two weeks, a bit less happy but still solid after nearly 3 weeks. That's better than the twice-the-Ah-capacity wet battery it replaced, and a valuable 3 kgs saved. smile

Oh, and my passenger can stretch out their legs now, too (battery in passenger footwell in these cars).

Hi Graham , Ultima battery had no guts but as Andy says it was probably too small .

I have the weight of a red top 40 at 12kg ??? Maybe I have it wrong :-)))

the ultima one was around 6kgs and was tiny... the one Im going for is 9.6kgs although I may actually go for 2... one for engine another for electronics stereo, lights etc with a split charge so if I leave lights on or have a drain it will still have charge in the engine battery to start it smile
