new kid on the block
Discussion
Hello there
In the last few weeks I have acquired an M12 2.5 GTO, I am based in the NW (UK) and am wondering if there are many others of you out there in this area?
I am also new to online forums so excuse me if I am a little clumsy to start with.
I have done a fair bit of fettling on the car so far and also have a list of Winter jobs, but, due to a small spin and a light contact with some tyres at Oulton Park, I have a new job on the list.
Basically, the lug on the ns front wheel hub has broken off (photos uploaded hopefully) and so have no steering on the ns. Some helpful bystanders pointed out that, from some partial discolouration of the fracture region, there were cracks on both sides of the locating hole and so it was a failure just waiting to happen. It is as well that it happened when it did rather than on a high speed corner from hitting a pothole.
So I hope some of you can help me with the following questions:
1 - Where can I source a replacement hub or whatever the required part is called?
2 - Is this a known weakness and would it be wise to replace both while I am about it?
3 - Are there any tricky aspects I need to watch for in doing the job (managing the spring compression for example)?
Thanks

This is where the track rod end attaches to the upright?
If so had the same problem with mine, although thankfully it didn't snap off completely.
1. You can get them from any Noble dealer... at about £1200, but that was a year ago so prices may have changed. Try Jetstream for a used part.
2. Mine doesn't exactlly get hard use and from what I understand the wheels are more likely to crack than the hub if you hit pot holes. After speaking to a few people it may be caused by over tightening of the nut.
3. Sorry can't help you there, I just paid a dealership to do it
Sure someone will be on who knows what your talking about to help.
Marco

A slight crack at the rear clamshell wheel-arch, which again could have been already in progress, but nothing else that t-cut can't tidy up. It would be good to have a meet, in the spring, when I'm mobile again.TuxMan said:
Hi Dave welcome to the gang , not a know weakspot but by the looks of it the trackrod end has been overtightened !!! See Matt or Dave at Jetstream for a replacement . Good to see someone else using there Noble on track !!! Just make sure you have a track day sump fitted !!! Tux
Thanks, it does have the trackday sump, but not the limited slip diff. Can you tell me the technical name for the part I want? Is it a unique Noble part or something borrowed from a more mundane make?

Hi dave welcome to the forum, there are a few based in the northwest I am on the wirral, Iam sure some more technically minded individuals will be along to help with part numbers and fitting etc although iam pretty sure that this is a known weak point on noble.
