As part of my winter upgrades i am upgrading my shift system to an M400 style and wanted to fit a close ratio shifter so i can adjust my gearshift to my own spec .

With help from Funky,GTO600 and Daddysumo with cables and Jetstream for the other bits the only thing left was the alloy shifter mounted to the top of the box , the std Noble unit is ok but the balls touch and there is no way to adjust your lever action , so i decided with some help from the gang to design my own unit , today i picked up the results !!!!

a big thanks has to go to Steve who machined the unit and has produced a stunning bit of kit !!

each arm is ballraced and circlipped and a new center post was machined from stainless to attach it too the box , it looks stunning and should be a good upgrade over the std unit !! Tux

The first unit is going to Funky over the next few days , hopefully it will work great !! Tux

Simon,

I have been looking at these from Hoover in the US, but they are very expensive for what you get from them.

Could you be persuaded to produce a short run of them when tested?

Thanks
Andrew

Would be great if I had a gearbox to put it on biggrin

Andrew , I have had To buy enough material to do a run of 10 , so once the final design has been confirmed if there is enough interest I will do 10 , although there is still a bit to sort and it needs to be tested but hopefully it will be ready for the spring !!!

Bondy , you will not need one as Jetstream do a great upgrade to the 5 speed that is a massive step forward !!!!

Looks like art, Mr. Tux. Very nice! One question though - are you planning to use the factory clip-on ball and sockets for attaching to the cables? I've been thinking about something similar, but with high misalignment rod ends (oops, rose joints biggrin ) rather than the ball/socket arrangement. Maybe there is too much misalignment for a rod end?

This is one modification I've been interested in for a very long time. Is this the one I had a go with at Jetstream the first one we met, Simon?

The linkage I have made primarily for anybody with a M400 or looking to upgrade there STD 3R , if you have a 5 speed Jetstream can upgrade your gearlever and cables to a M400 type spec , yes Chappers this is the setup you tried earlier this year , it's a massive step forward for anyone with a 5 speed box .
