Cocentrate on the fuel feed in my opinion, i.e anything from the fuel tank to the fuel pump... you will note that when you run a full tank the bee sound will be reduced, this in itself demonstates how dependent the 044 is for being gravity fed.
The main cause on the feed in my opinion is the ARV, which is what allows the space made by used fuel to be replaced by air, they are restrictive by nature, there is a little ball inside the ARV which will lift up to let air in, but it is only the force of a vacuum in the tank that lifts the ball up.
Now seen as though the 044 depends so heavily on being gravity fed, the vacuum can only mean the pump is having to pull fuel in lieu of air pressure forcing the fuel into the pump.
Once a 044 has been strained enough to make the bumble bee sound, it will retain that noise for its life, the only way to have a quiet pump is to remove the feed restrciction before putting the pump, then it will remain silent. I have had mine on for a while now without noise.
I would personally modify the fuel tank outlet position if not done already, and if you are going to do this then at the same time i would anti surge the tank properly, make a removable lid and stick the fuel pump internal.

I mounted the fuel pump on rubber mounts which took away a bit of the noise. Also mounted it on a slight angle. May have been pointless but i did notice a difference

044's dont buzz unless there is an issue or something not right, the noble setup doesn't really suit them hence they often buzz 
common issue is the return to the tank is too small... also dont let the fuel level go down too far as they hate sucking and really need a slight pressure on them.
