Avon Tyres ZZR

Has anyone considered the AvonZZR tyre. Developed for light weight cars like caterhams so might not be good for us.

They look ultra sticky. Wouldn't fancy being caught out in anything more than two drops of drizzle though :|

They don't do our front size yet (soon) but the rears are about £250 inc Vat so Federal RSRs from demon tweaks are cheaper (can get them cheaper but can't find anyone holding stock).

Really wouldnt recommend them for normal road use unless you only drive in dry conditions.

Don't come in our sizes, the ZZR comes in 225/40 and 265/35 but it's not got the Y speed rating.

I can't decide if I'll go for the 595rsr or if spending an extra 200 and getting the 888's is worthwhile.

I idealy want the RSR's but don't want to
Pay demon tweaks prices. I've got a few months to wait so will
Keep looking.

There wet/dry tyre RR3 looks good for winter driving. Might get them next for the winter set.

Has anyone tried the yokohama A048E simular to the toyo 888.
I have just purchased 6 x 265/35r18 from a guy at silverstone off the front of his aston martin... 2 of them are half worn, 2 nearly new, £150 Bargain!!
And he threw in a pair brand new as the inside seal has a slight tear were the fitter didn't fit them properly.

I've found My Federal RSRs now so am happy. Still might get the Avon ZZ3s for my winter tyres though. Whole set fitted £552.

Have them on the rear of my Z4M and they are exceptionally good dry or wet. Couldn't get the fronts so went with Falken 452s and they are just as good if not better. Stuck the Falkens on the M400 and very impressed, and they are about 75% of the Avon price so an absolute bargain.

I have just had some falken 452's fitted to my merc and they seem pretty good, iam also planning on fitting them to the nob next week £489 fitted.

Just been reading reviews in the 452's and people rate the ZZ3's more as the wet handling on te 452's isn't very good so it seems.

Just been chatting to a few guys that have tested Tyres back to back, 888's, RSR's and yokos on a subaru track car, the RSR impressed the most, it gave consistent lap times whereas the 888's went off with heat and the yokos cost too much. Test was aimed at finding the best tyre for the average track day enthusiast.
