rear lights

I am in ownership of a set and was wondering if anybody else had fitted them, not liking the thought of bonding them in as if I don't like them I want to go back to standard, trying to find a solution, anybody interested in pictures when done?

The don't bond them in, silicone them in. That way they can be removed again. It is strong enough to hold them in.

I'm not a fan TBH, even less so if the only fixing is a bit of glue.....

Whats wrong with glue?
Our cars are made from glue and strands of glass. They seem to be lasting ok..

On the 3R and M400 the front lights are held in by glue, if you want to find a different fixing method then you would need to fibreglass in brackets to the inside of the clam that the light fitting could then bolt to.

Or just use some standard lights as donors

I prefer the standard lights which would look better with clear lenses instead of Orange..they look like something bought from halfords!

Really? Didn't know that. i just don't think hanging heavy parts on a car just with glue is a great idea, I'd be making up a couple of brackets as you suggest if I was fitting them.

They are fixed on very strong with the glue and become integral to the point where it is almost impossible to remove them without destroying the clam.
My rear lights are held in by brackets, they fix to bolts on the back of the light fitting which overlap the opening, when you tighten them down they sandwich the light to the clam, sorry i do not have any photos.

Errrm, two self tapping screws from below the light hold my modified standard units in place, no glue needed but it would work. The front lights are heavy bds of things and the glue holds them fine.

I think you have the same rears as me Chris - Afterburners - I didn't realise they were bolted in.
