Hi, I am possibly going to view this car at the weekend and just asking on here if anyone knows this car or it's previous owners,it's silver and advertised on auto trader, the dealer took it in part x and does not seem to know much about them. I am fairly confident about viewing it ,but any info on the car would help.Just got one query how would I know if the ecu has been upgraded? Can't seem to find a definitive answer on here after a couple of days of looking !, It's a 2.5L gto ,thanks Mark.

its in front of the offside rear wheel splash guard. If you want it make it a provision that this is checked.

Also, check to see if it has an LSD (not sure the best way to do this) and that it has a Track Day Sump.

Also check that the fans at the front have a shroud around them and they are not just attached to the Rad.

The gearbox often has 'LSD' written on the side. Alternatively a quiet road and an enthusiastic start!

Deeper pan of the Track Day Sump is readily visible from beneath the car.

If the dealer doesn't know much about these cars, I would explain that the ECU requires replacement and use this to negotiate the price.

Check the exhaust manifolds too - a relatively easy replacement but they are about £450 + VAT each, and welding is not an acceptable fix.

Dom.

We did a reasonable amount of work on it in 2010 / 11. What £ is it on for?

Dr K : looks nice but a bit pricey (compared to my 2002 with only 10k on the clock)

if you lift one side of the car and turn the rear wheel by hand it will resist turning if it has a lsd fitted

you defo need the track day sump and lsd if you are going to do track days

also try and find out if it has had the fuel pump wiring upgrade

i might be able to look at the car if it is not too far away

pm me if you need any advice

My personal opinion is you need those things whether you intend to track the car or not, especially at that price!

I've kept a track of all Nobles advertised over the last 6-7 months. BV52 ZBE was up for private sale on PH around 15 Aug 2011 by Adrian Haylock for £24,795 (PM me for his contact number / e-mail address if this will help getting more info on the car), then again by same seller around 18 Sep 2011 for £23,499. It then looks like it was picked up by Level Auto's (owner probably PX'd?)and was advertised by them on PH as a trade seller for £22,995 around 25 Oct 11. I didn't see it being shown as sold at any time by Level Autos.

The spec when advertised in Aug and Sep 11 I noted as follows: MBE ECU Factory upgrade, cooling fan factory upgrade, tunnel cooling mod, Alpine iDA media receiver, RAC Trackster, new battery, new ball joints and suspension bushes.

I have 3 additional exterior pictures of this car from the ads if you want them (2 by the private seller and 1 by the trade seller). Can send by PM as they're on a Word doc.

Hope this helps. thumbup

lol - yep, be afraid!! Don't know why I bothered keeping tabs on them after I'd bought mine, but as an owner I'd got into a 'logging' habit as there's not so many of them and I can't seem to give it up....! getmecoat

Actually now I've regained composure, I suspect Daisy might be interested in the info you have, seeing as its all been in the public domain.
