How to remove ECU

Hi guys,

I'd normally find out how using the search facility but with it out of action can someone please how to get the ECU removed in a 3.0l GTO 3R?

I know its in the engine bay, but which wheel do i need to remove - i.e. drivers side or passengers side?

Any help much appreciated,

Remove OSR wheel, undo a few screws to remove inner arch. ECU held in with 4 off bolts, 10mm heads.

I've got the car jacked up and wheel off.

Is the ECU behind the liner in front of the wheel?
If yes - then all my screws are rusted and not turning - bummer.

Is the ECU above the battery?

yes it is behind the wheel liner

yes it is inside the liner above and to the side of the battery...i.e. it is situated inside the side pod..
you need to find a way to get those screws out...if they are rounded n the crss head...then yu need t cut a slot in the screw head and turn them with a flat head screwdriver...or try tyo get molecrips around the screw head to turn them...if he heads break off then so be it..you will then just have to get the shanks out of the chassis..which can eb turned out with mole grips ar punched out

I'm letting the screw soak in wd40 for a while before trying again.

Lets hope that does the trick and i get the screws out.

Hi guys,

Screws still not for moving after gallons of wd40 :-(

I think i'll need to remove the head of the screws by brute force.

So, i'll need replacement screws.

Any clues of the size of these self tapping screws?

And best place to purchase them?

B&Q?
