blowers not blowing

Fit fan unit from Mk 4/5 escort, resistor pack is proper not a curled up wire on a plastic insert.
Fitting is relatively straight forward, cut lugs off escort fan unit to match Noble drill holes to match Noble, fit.

d getting heater box off for first time. I removed the top of mine permanently and fitted an "easily" removable lid for future occasions.
If you do this swap the tunnel mod is a no brainer as the front of the tunnel is exposed with heater box out.

I cut mine open with dremel, remove unit and had brought this Mk5 fan. But it was to big for my box. Noticed it was the brushes do replaced them from the eBay mk5 one I brought. Also used the resistor pack but as it doesn't fit I required it and just secured it with sealant inside. Then seal box back up.
It's a paIn to try and remove the whole box assembly.

Hi Bondy yes should of said they had been checked before posting,blowers stopped working as i took it for last service in november and the garage checked fuses and changed resistor then,but i didnt fancy forking out £600 for new box or ?£££ to get in the box.
i try not to take it out in the rain so havnt needed blowers for de-misting so far but dont want to get caught out,so thought id see if there was an easy fix.

Do you get to this from inside the front clam? I can't seem to find where the fan box is loated.It's a paIn to try and remove the whole box assembly.

If you did remove the box where are the fixings etc please ?
Got to replace my fan unit so will get the one described above...

I removed the whole fan box to get at the fan unit and identify an appropriate replacement.If you did remove the box where are the fixings etc please ?

While it was out I cut off the top section of the fan box with a and fixed a few small right angle brackets to re-attach a "lid" with screws.
All this could be done with the fan box still in the car, the only reason I took it out was to identify the fan unit and at the time I wasn't sure how it all went together.
ETS. the fixing for the fan box are a b
h they go through the fan box, bauklhead and heater box and sandwich them together, they are hex head screws, you will need to hold one end under the front clam whilst doing your best to access the other end under the dash, from memory you may need to remove the stainless wiper motor cover etc, aswell.Like I said it's a b

The Nuts inside the car on mine managed to hold enough for me to undo the fan from inside the box. Did you get this sorted? I had a similar problem with mine about a year ago; turned out that a spring on the motor bushes had corroded and fallen-off. 1p rather than £600. Motor accessed through cutting the box from the front as others have mentioned.Has anyone had this problem and know of an easy fix?

Yes took it to jetstream who fixed it for nearly pence,had the tunnel cooling mod done at same time,plus other bits plus train fare,petrol etc still nowhere near as dear as'the garage i used to use' Another big thumbs up for Matt and Dave
