Picked up the car from Matt and Dave last week after having some bit's done including having one of their exhausts fitted. Started with cracked manifolds which, when I got them off, had been welded on more than one occasion previously and were beyond repair. On removing the exhaust both Cat’s were also shot so decided to have a complete new system.
The prices quoted from the usual suspects were ridiculous for the quality of fit and finish I saw on the examples I looked at, so spoke to Matt to see what he could do following Dan’s (Inflict) recommendation. I have to say, that what I have ended up having fitted is a quality bit of hand crafted, individually fitted, kit that not only looks the dog’s but sounds fantastic too. Matt spent a great deal of time ensuring that the system is fully adjustable and that the tolerances were just so. The exhaust note was tuned to my requirements so it’s not too intrusive on tickover, but still gives a nice resonant burble, does not drone when motorway cruising, but howls when you give it the Beans!
The price of the system depends on the configuration you require, but is awesome value for money. I would wholeheartedly recommend that anyone looking to change their system has a chat with Matt before doing so – you won’t be sorry.

A short video of the sound an some before and after pic’s below.

That is nice work.. i like that silencer, no wonder it growls smile..i also like the double exit tail pipes but not sure about the bevel end , it makes them look like they are pointing up?...minor detail though it still looks amazing..

They're pointed up to avoid scorching the pavement and other cars that follow a little too close before Craig punches the throttle. laugh

What can i say, he has good taste!..yes

The down side of having straight cut tail pipes is i had to cut the rear clam for it to open properly whistle, but the tail pipes do stick out a fair bit past the diffuser..

Looks and sounds pretty nice. Did you paint those calipers yourself incidentally? Mine could do with a refresh.

I'd be interrested in one,but have they done any before/after dyno plots for their system yet?

Looks very nice but does it retain the Y piece ?

Yes it does retain the Y piece, but where the front and rear bank 2.5" pipes meet, it goes into a 3" during the Y which then carries on into the silencer. Admittedly, these will not be quite as good power wise as the piper. We have had 460bhp on Dan's and that sounds sweet! Craig's is very different as it is a 2.5 but just a nice crisp noise compared to standard. It is a nice upgrade from the standard Noble system, at a low cost, but still running a single silencer.
Price depends on what you want, ie cats, tailpipes, silencer internals etc.

Hi Craig. Can I ask you what sort of cost this system has run you at? I have a 2005 20k mile Noble M400 and I suspect I'm imminently in need of a new exhaust so am scoping out the possibilities and options just now.

Would appreciate your response.

Is this the same exhaust as here: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... ? Where's the noise gone?

Hey Chappers. I specifically asked Matt for, what ultimately became known as the 'DOOM', spec'd Jetstream exhaust.

The goals on my version of the exhaust were; increased performance over the stock item, but with the primary focus being sound (hence single back box).

The DOOM spec can be heard here: http://vimeo.com/34717322

This is the beauty of the Jetstream system... its like going to Saville Row... but for exhausts wink Tailor made!

Hey, unfortunately I only have 1 dyno plot to hand.

This shows the addition of the Jetstream exhaust, but unfortunately the simultaneous addition of some other bits too. T28's, plus intercooler, hard pipe kit etc

I believe Matt is fitting one to his own Noble next, I'm sure there will be a straight before/after there.

Worty - agree with the yellow calipers, as soon as I saw the pics I took it went on the (long) list of jobs to do. The calipers were already red, but I repainted them last year using heatproof paint - easy to do if you ensure you degrease them properly first.

Tailpipes are a personal choice - Matt had 30 for me to shoose from. He sized them to clear all the chassis and bodywork so as not to cause scorching and rattles - I love em!

Shaun400SE/Gadge - As Matt says, cost depends on what you require around adjustment/Cat's/baffling etc, but for me, the cost was probably 50% cheaper than other leading brands I looked at excluding the cost of the manifolds - IMHO the quality, fit and adjustability is far better than those I looked at. Speak to Matt for a price it'll be worth it!

Not sure what the power gain might be as the car hasn't been dyno'd (another job on the list) but the first drive following it being fitted felt totally different to how the car felt before - more revvy and definitely more urgent on the throttle with the surge seeming to hang in there longer than it did before.

Now to enjoy it over the weekend!!
