Car Over fueling

Hi guys,

Car is over fueling, e.g. it's bad starting (never been like that) & once warm ticker ok but if revs below 2K car try's to cut out if i accelerate unless i drop a gear to get revs over 2K.

I've had the lamba's replaced in Dec to pass the MOT due to emissions problem.

I've just had the ECU re-flashed by Jetstream.

So what could be causing the over fueling now?

Could it be plugs?

What else?

Any thoughts much appreciated,

For what it's worth, the M400 uses Bosch P/N 0280160712 (3 bar = 43.5 psi). Costs about $184US. Should be readily available over internet. Check yours, the P/N should be stamped on it.

Before you order one, though, check the fuel presure using the Installation Manual's procedure. You'll need a pressure gage with shrader valve attachment.

Are you sure it's over fueling? You might want to use an AFR gauge to find out if it's too rich or too lean. But before that, I'd suggest checking your plugs, checking for vacuum leaks, and checking to see if all the hoses are on correctly, especially the vacuum hoses. It may even be the infamous "90 degree vacuum fitting under the manifold is pushed on too far" problem. If your car has the MBE computer, you can hook up a laptop and use the US Noble dealer software to see if all your sensors are working correctly. The software will also allow you to clear the adaptive maps - I've seen some pretty strange things happen when the adaptive maps get all messed up...

Thanks guys for the suggestions - i'll investigate them and let you know.

I believe its over fueling based on the smell from the car & that a full tank only gives me around 50 miles less than normal.

It sounds like one of your vacuum pipes has come adrift or may be leaking.
Have you run the engine with any of these off recently ?
